Expanding Side Folds, with the Seam Layout You Need
Side gussets are folded panels along the two sides of the bag. They open during filling and create space for the product. The bag’s base, seam placement, material and fill affect its shape in use.
Not every side-gusset bag uses a quad-seal layout. Four corner seals alone do not identify a separately formed flat base. Compare the actual sample and drawing rather than relying on a name.

Project Measurement Comparisons
For comparison, the actual coffee project is published as 10 × 34 + 6 cm, the bulk-tea project as 19 × 55 + 11 cm, and the PE / MDOPE coffee project as 14 × 40 + 7.5 cm. These are project notations; confirm their measurement convention before using them for your order.
Plan the Seam, Opening and Reclosure Together
Match longitudinal back seams, quad-edge seals, reclosable tin-ties and degassing valves to your filling process and packaging artwork.
Center-Back or Offset Seam
The seam position changes how the back and side artwork is arranged. Keep important wording and barcodes away from the agreed seam and folded areas.
Four-Corner Quad-Seal Layout
Corner seals change the panel boundaries and seal areas. Compare the selected construction on the actual sample; do not assume every side-gusset bag shares the same bottom.
Fold-Over Top and Tin-Tie
Plan the space needed to fold the top and the way customers will reclose it. A tin-tie supports fold-over use after opening; the unopened pack needs its agreed final seal.
Zipper or Panel-Access Opening
If reclosure or a particular access position matters to your product, discuss the compatible closure layout with the side folds and filling opening. Confirm the selected feature on the sample and production drawing.
Coffee Degassing Valve
Discuss gas release, packing timing and the preferred valve position. Plan the valve area with the material, filling setup and printed panels.
